Barbados Track & Field Athlete, Ryan Brathwaite will be representing his country proudly in the upcoming 2012 London Olympics which begins in just a few days. Brathwaite, who participates in the 110m hurdles is no stranger to success at major tournaments. In 2009 he won Gold at the Berlin, World Championships at a time of 13.14s. Since then, he was able to take home the Gold Medal at the CAC games held in Puerto Rico.
Despite Barbados only sending six athletes to the London Olympics, the quality of the athletes speaks volume and Ryan Brathwaite is one such example. The 24 year old is young and has remained impressive throughout his career thus far. You will get a sense of determination whenever he runs and a zeal to win. The 110m hurdle is one of the events I think anyone can win on the day. It’s all about how well an athlete executes at the given time. One slip or one moment of a lapse of concentration, finishes all the hopes of a medal. Let us all cheer for Ryan Brathwaite and help him on his quest for Gold in the London Olympics.
