Usain Bolt has renewed his sponsorship deal with Puma. The Caribbean icon now has a sponsorship deal that will last up until the conclusion of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Bolt has already stated he will be looking to retire after the 2016 Olympic Games and the conclusion of the sponsorship deal seems to coincide with his plans.
The legendary Bolt has been sponsored by Puma since 2003 and was given the biggest sponsorship deal in athletics when it was then renewed in 2010. Puma and Bolt have now become a brand that goes hand in hand with each other. Puma have benefited greatly from the superstar and Bolt is what you would call an investment well done for the German kit makers. The will need all the publicity they can get from Usain as they look to compete against the likes of Nike and Adidas.
The Chief Executive of Puma, Bjoern Gulden had these words to say;
“He will play a crucial role in our future product concepts, as well as brand communications leading towards the Olympic Games in Rio 2016 and beyond.”
The six times Olympic gold medalist and eight times World Championship gold medalist is expected to continue on the path of supreme greatness and it is certain Puma will be along for the ride.
