I would visit nonetheless. Those statistics don't deter me unless they are specifically targeting tourists.

Side note: This is why I go and read actual reports. When all that talk about T&T having the highest murder rate in the region was going on, I went and read the U.N. report and that was inaccurate. It only held that title for particular months but for the year, it was 3rd or 4th in the Caribbean region. Belize is definitely not the highest in Central America, even though you didnt say that. Just thought I would point that out.

People Facts about Belize

It's due mostly to the Colombian drug trade and Belize's "mid-point" status. Also, Belizeans like to imitate Jamaicans and Black Americans (Bloods & Crips garbage). Over 150,000 Belizeans reside in Los Angeles County, and live amongst Aframs in Compton, Watts, Crenshaw, Long Beach, Englewood. Many get deported and bring back gang culture.

Ross Kemp did a show on Belize:

Also, as you can see, our neighbors are all up there (Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, even Jamaica).

95% of murders happen in Belize City. This city was unplanned, uninvested in, and just a scratch on the jewel that is Belize. Mostly a small group of silly negroes with no sense, killing one another...I am so glad I don't even have a relation to anybody from there, sadly, but honestly.

I would put Belize City up there with Kingston, Jamaica, Cartegena, Colombia, Mexico City, etc... as among the most dangerous cities on earth. I'm not bragging, it's just the reality of the situation.

Still, the country of Belize is a straight up jewel. Anybody who want's to see turquoise water, white sand, huge Mayan ruins, exotic wildlife, the most diverse small country, the largest living thing in the world, then go. None of this is in Belize City.

That's the thing. The areas where crime happen in Belize, aren't tourist areas. Belize City is simply not an attraction to a foreigner with sense in there head. We have soooo much more to offer

You live and you learn. There isn't a thing there that would make me visit but obviously there are thousands who think oppositely.

I'm not here to change your mind. You seem to have made it up before you knew what to think...lol. I guess ignorance is bliss.

I would like to go to Trinidad, because I'm a worldly kind of person. I don't go places expecting home... People like you, I'd just ignore.

The official value is 2 BZD$ = 1 USD$ since 1978.

Why do people tout this as some kinda crown jewel? This does not mean that Belize has a healthier economy than tnt. Many islands in the caribbean use the EC dollar which is a higher currency that TT but their economies...all of them together...do not compare with TnT's...much less one of their economies. I'm not saying this to brag just to point out that your currency with respect to the Dollar is nothing to boast about. Now GDP is a different matter.

Agreed, but Steupz is claiming we grow crops to sustain ourselves with the barter system, and we have nothing that would interest foreigners....lulz
