An attempt to recapture the magic of the old Nassau-Hemstead L.I. Carnival...hmmm.

Probably, next year will be better.

Nassau-Hempstead LI carnival used to be niiiiiccceeeeeeeeeeeeeee.. I enjoyed it more than the Parkway.. Less crowded, free movement, no baracades etc...

I dunno if this one will measure up though.. not the first time around.. and brentwood is a bit of a treck... I see some mas camps havinb bus rides out there... I think Natural Freaks was charging $50... And they charging people to get inside the festival too... and i dont see it being promoted too much either... I dunno yo

yup.. I dont know too much people willing to battle the LIE or the Southern State on a saturday afternoon for carnival... Its not like with the Hempstead Carnival you could just catch public transportation from Jamaica... its too outta the way

LOL...Brentwood, is one of my ole' stomping grounds. So, I know the traffic scheme very well. I see the route and the event set-up is exactly as I figure it to be, based off knowing the topography of the area. They were smart by commissioning the Brooklyn mas camps, and giving folkz opportunity to re-wear their costumes again...:good

The first year will be good...but I'm sure next year will be much better. At least, that was the direction the original carnival was moving. It's funny how two nights ago I was discussing the original L.I. carnival to someone.

So, Pineman....

what's the scoop?
Hey….yeah, well thanks for asking…..you know I am beginning to think ppl on here have no interest in other Carnival outside of T&T…so I now stick to blogs…where we share a common interest ! Carnivals!

Anyway, it was another nice simple day at the office, no issues getting there….the event was simple, small. All wrapped into one, two trucks, one steel band on the road also….but, what was important to us is that we had a good time, ran into ppl I aint seen in a while in L.I. of all place…and of course, and we were able to Bless –up the thing the proper way !

We didn’t stay for the show, we had a bbq to attend in Sag Harbor, so we left like 4pm…..

But again it was simple, beautiful day…and we made the best of it.

Oh, btw, Half of crowd was from Brooklyn….no surprise there, without us, the ting flop !

cool pineman. Respek! Sometimes small and simple is the best.

I see you hang out in Sag Harbour as well huh? Hung out a few weeks ago with some friends who live a stone's throw away from the beach.
