Mental illness... and romance

lookin at that mya campbell thread.. made me think.. if somebody is mentally ill.. at what point would dealing with them become too much for you to handle?? not a husband/wife.. but somebody you're dating or in a relationship with.. how much is too much

no i mean somebody who is diagnosed as havin bipolar disorder, depression, manic depressive, pychosis, schizophrenic... not just somebody who act the fool wheenver..

I have come to find that they are OK as long as they are on their meds... as for the others.. nahh.. can't deal.

trick is them staying on their meds. nuff times they decide they feel fine and go off and the fireworks begins....

but seriously maybe ppl don't know when they initially dating someone but MANY people are popping those blue pills (and I not talking about Viagra) and you would never know until they decide to let you in.

the key is them recognizing when they are slipping... I've known a couple to actually do that and go back on.

the key is them recognizing when they are slipping... I've known a couple to actually do that and go back on.

I have a childhood friend in the same position too. But the thing is you can recognize whne they are lying about being on their meds, or when they are slipping, but it can be a helluva a thing to convince them that they are becoming unstable again.

by time some realize, a whole lot of damage has been done and that can be really taxing on the next person. :( That can turn into a constant roller-coaster ride that is draining on the next person.
