this is some wild shit.. and scary...because so many people disappear and nobody knows.. but think about something else.. that child has to get therapy, the 6 year old, because imagine growing up and finding out that your father kidnapped and raped your mother... also can you probably imagine what those brothers (2 years apart) may have carried out in their youth if in their old age they band together to kidnap women??
another thing to consider.. if these girls were black, would people have still be looking for them? it's scary the amount of people that disappear on a daily basis that nobody bothers tolook for.. i'm going to find the pic on the notice board that has nuff people of color disappeared..it's really frightful.. and all these girls are around 15/16/17...
Well, to be honest, no one was really "looking" for these 3 girls either, the families of course still held out hope, but not looking...the one smart girl saw a break and had not given up hope, she used it, and Mr. Ramsey did not do the normal thing and try to avoid getting involved in what most would assume is some domestic dispute.
Cause if he had not decided to act as he did, she would still be trapped, and who knows when next the opportunity to get out would have presented itself...another 10 years?
By then the child would be a teenager and most assuredly raped and tortured and impregnated as well.
I am waiting to see more news on his daughters, and some interviews with the other parent...we need to fill in the blanks on these monsters lives so we out here who have children get a sense of the type of things that can seem normal and not be, or are warning signs that are ignored.
My whole goal with this story is to find some takeaway points to aid me in the prevention better than cure policy.
I will definitely encourage my own from early about shedding typical female dependence on a ride to and from from men. Even in Jamaica these days I've been told women generally don't accept rides from ANY man driving a taxi even if the taxi marked, cause he might just drive off with you and rape you or something...they develop a (business) relationship with a taxi driver known to someone they know, and use that taxi driver all the time, or a route taxi that is common enough along the route they are going that he is known. Not just random drivers.
So even with "public" transport people are being careful in situations where you end up one on one potentially with the driver, who is still a stranger and you are still at his mercy.
Even the guy I nearly got in the accident with, he wasn't a TOTAL stranger either as the girl saying to me, i saw him at a place i stopped at frequently and he one day asked me out...but i had no sense of his habits and personality, mentality the way you would with a friend, before getting in his vehicle...so still a stranger... I mean intuition plays a role in it too, but hey, I learned my lesson, and as I said, it could have been worse...although he wasn't black either, he was Arab. Which should have told me something because he is not suppose to be drinking alcohol, and there he went had barely a glass or two and couldn't manage. If i had been his friend and been around him long enough to know his habits, I would have known dude cannot handle his liquor...that's prevention better than cure. Still his fault for being an idiot on the first date, but had I DIED that night you think that would be any consolation whose fault it is?
So I feel anyway...others may disagree...
