When does "black" end, and "mixed" begin?

Why are you kicking off this thread with such negativity? Because, it seem's like most people who claim to be "black", claim to be "mixed" at the same time. It's one of the other...
i was saying it jokingly. sheeeessshhhh. doh worry, next time i'll put :kicks or LOL behind it

Race isn't even real, it's a social construct, so honestly it depends on how you were socialised, where you were raised, and how you view yourself.

Where does "mixed" end and "white" begin? Is someone who is 25% Black a White person? Some places yes, others no and others hell focking naw.

Race is a social construct. But we live in a social world. It was created to distinguish two divergent groups (West/Central Africans and Europeans) who look VERY different from one another.

Well I am applying this to the U.S. and the Americas. I'm aware that in places like Yemen or Morocco, yes you can be like 30% Sub-Saharan (or "inner-African") and they will accept you as "white" (which they wouldn't be anyways, but that's another story).

With whatever your parents are, or when you look like it.

And this varies from culture to culture. Nuff of who black in America called something else somewhere else. Some countries like Trinidad and Brazil have categories that don't exist here.

Be that as it may, we've had five centuries of racial mixing behind us and the lines between what constitutes what race have blurred significantly. What do you say to someone who may have a higher percentage of one ancestry but physically resembles another? How do you classify someone who's 30% African and 70% European but looks physically Sub-Saharan African? Or someone who's 60% African and 40% European but can pass for White?

You can have ancestry from different populations, yes. But race? Biologically a useless concept.

For "black" people. White people are almost all "pure" or near pure. On average they are like 99.8% West Eurasian.. That's pretty damn pure... Unlike us, who all have white in us (to varying degrees)

They are mixed. Point blank. But this happens VERY rarely...

Or someone
who's 60% African and 40% European but can pass for White?

Depends on what society you're talking about. In Latin America what passes for White is alot less European than what passes for White in the States...and even still about 1/3 of Americans have significant African ancestry. Most White people in the US are very White, but there's still a large subsection of that population that isn't.

Not really. It's not uncommon and phenotypes vary widely even within members of the same family, much less across an entire society. Most mixed people do have intermediate phenotypes, this is true, however people who favour one side over another are not uncommon.

For what? I don't even believe in the validity of most admixture tests tbh so why would I? There are more important questions to be addressed in this thread (which actually isn't a bad thread tbh) such as:

1. Are race and ancestry the same thing?

2. If not, which matters more?

Admixture tests will only give people slightly higher African scores in the future, since African is undersampled and West Eurasia is oversampled.

Also, alot these tests were made to identify West Eurasian diversity

Please just post the pic of the 60% African that looks "white"... please do....

You're preaching to the choir. Go look at the Belize census and see if you see anything about "black" or "African". Something like 80% of Belizeans are mixed, to varying degrees and our census is taken with that in mind

That's the thing. If you aren't familiar with the "pure" type, then how do you know what your looking at?

You might see a Garifuna with spaced out slanting eyes, and wide, flat cheekbones. Their vocal frequency might even be off for "black" person.

You might think, "Now that's a funny looking black person", but in reality it's the admixture that's making the person look "funny"
