In the latest news from Trinidad and Tobago, two men, a 24-year-old police officer and a worker at the Port of Point Lisas, were charged with having sex with two minors. Yesterday, constable Adrian Mohammed and 22-year-old port worker Anthony La Foucade appeared before the judge at the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court.
According to reports, the policeman and his accomplice, La Foucade who works as a stevedore, allegedly picked up a 16-year-old girl and another girl under the age of 16 on the 6th of August, and they both had sex with them.
The constable who faces charges of having sex with a minor and sexual molestation, jointly with La Foucade, faces two additional charges which includes, failing to act when sexual offences were being committed against the two children, being an officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
While Foucade was granted bail amounting to TT$90,000 (US$14,217), Mohammed was granted a higher sum of TT$110,000 (US$17,376). They were also ordered by the court to avert from making any contact with either of the female victims.
The two men, constable Adrian Mohammed and port worker Anthony La Foucade will reappear in court on the 8th of September to continue with the trial.
